PTI protests involved trained saboteurs, chemical bombs: claims DPO Attock

Attock, December 2, 2024- District Police Officer (DPO) Dr. Ghayas Gul has revealed that the November 24 protests were infiltrated by 100 trained saboteurs who launched attacks on police using chemical bombs and Brazilian-made tear gas shells, reportedly four times stronger than local variants

In a press conference, Dr. Gul stated that the protesters were equipped with bulletproof jackets and wireless communication devices, effectively jamming police communications. He described a vehicle used by the group as a “mobile bomb factory,” loaded with chemicals and explosives.

Dr. Gul also disclosed that out of the 1,150 individuals arrested, 89 had no records in Pakistan’s databases, raising suspicions of their affiliation with a country having strained relations with Pakistan.

While no protestor fatalities were reported in Attock, the clashes left 147 police personnel injured, with 25 sustaining serious injuries.
