Peshawar, December 31, 2024: Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, reaffirmed his commitment to restoring peace and security in the province, declaring it his primary responsibility.

Addressing the long-standing issue of unrest in the Kurram region, Gandapur acknowledged that the conflict has persisted for over five decades but assured that a resolution is imminent. “I will personally ensure its resolution,” he stated confidently.

Emphasizing his administration’s strong connection with the people, Gandapur remarked, “Those who lack public support cannot engage with the people. We have the public’s support, and we will continue working for their welfare.”

The Chief Minister highlighted economic performance as a key indicator of governance success, boasting significant achievements in provincial revenue growth. “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has increased its revenue by more than 24 percent,” he stated. “If others claim economic improvement, they should present their results.”

He further noted that the province surpassed its revenue targets, collecting Rs. 103 billion above expectations. Gandapur contrasted this with the economic deficits faced by the federal government and Punjab, pointing out Punjab’s Rs. 150 billion shortfall.

Gandapur also called on citizens to avoid celebratory gunfire during New Year festivities. “I cannot celebrate while my leader, Imran Khan, and other workers remain in jail,” he said, referencing ongoing political tensions.

Concluding his address, Gandapur issued a bold prediction for the coming year: “In 2025, either this government will remain in power, or we will take charge.”

The Chief Minister’s remarks reflect both his determination to address pressing issues in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and his strong alignment with his political party’s stance amidst a challenging political climate.
