Lahore, January 13, 2025: The much-anticipated player draft for the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) took place on Monday at the historic Huzoori Bagh in Lahore. All six franchises finalized their squads for the upcoming tournament, with a mix of local and international stars.

Two-time champions Lahore Qalandars began proceedings by selecting New Zealand’s all-rounder Daryl Mitchell as their sole platinum-category pick, having already retained skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi and Fakhar Zaman.

The Karachi Kings, 2020 champions, made headlines by securing veteran Australian opener David Warner as their first platinum pick. They later added New Zealand pacer Adam Milne and Pakistan’s Abbas Afridi through a wild card in the same category. Karachi further strengthened their squad by picking seasoned campaigners Kane Williamson and Mohammad Nabi in the supplementary rounds.

Quetta Gladiators, former champions, selected New Zealand’s Michael Bracewell as their initial platinum pick. They used a wild card to secure Pakistan’s all-rounder Faheem Ashraf and rounded off their platinum picks with Finn Allen. Shoaib Malik, unpicked in earlier rounds, joined Quetta in the supplementary phase.

Peshawar Zalmi, led by Babar Azam, opted for England’s dynamic batter Tom Kohler-Cadmore as their sole platinum pick. Meanwhile, Multan Sultans and Islamabad United added New Zealand’s Michael Bracewell and Australia’s Matthew Short, respectively, to their platinum rosters.
