London, January 26, 2025: Pakistan’s breathtaking Gilgit-Baltistan region has earned a spot on the BBC’s list of 25 must-visit destinations for 2025, standing alongside globally renowned locations like Australia’s bubblegum-colored lakes and Botswana’s solar-powered safari camps.

The BBC’s selection emphasizes destinations that not only offer extraordinary travel experiences but also prioritize sustainable tourism, support local communities, and preserve cultural heritage.

Gilgit-Baltistan, often referred to as “heaven’s gate,” is celebrated for its stunning natural beauty and serene landscapes. Nestled in the northern reaches of Pakistan, the region boasts five of the world’s 14 highest peaks, including K2, the second-highest mountain on Earth. The Hunza Valley, one of the most famous tourist destinations for its cherry blossoms and apricot orchards. The UNESCO-listed Deosai Plains, known for their undulating landscapes and vibrant flora and fauna.

For many, Pakistan remains a hidden gem waiting to be explored. Beyond the iconic mountain trails, Gilgit-Baltistan offers a harmonious blend of natural beauty, cultural richness, and an unspoiled environment.

The inclusion of Gilgit-Baltistan on BBC’s prestigious list highlights the region’s growing appeal as a sustainable and awe-inspiring travel destination, inviting adventurers from around the globe to experience its unparalleled charm.
