Islamabad, January 28, 2025 : Reports submitted by Bushra Bibi, wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, appear to have played a pivotal role in reshaping the party’s internal dynamics. Senior political analyst Kashif Rafiq has revealed that Imran Khan’s trust in the Atif Khan group in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has significantly increased, hinting at potential leadership changes in the province.

During a discussion on a private TV program, Rafiq stated that Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur could face mounting challenges, possibly including action based on Bushra Bibi’s reports. Speculation is also rife that Gandapur might be removed from his position as Chief Minister.

The analyst further suggested that the Atif Khan group could secure even greater influence within the party, potentially claiming the KP chief minister ship. This comes after the group already secured prominent positions such as the provincial party presidency and chairmanship of the Public Accounts Committee. Kashif Rafique highlighted the strong standing of key figures like Babar Saleem, Shakeel Khan, Shehram Tarakai, and Atif Khan within the party.

Rafiq also indicated that Sheikh Waqas Akram, a known ally of Gandapur, might be sidelined. He noted that Bushra Bibi is reportedly backing Babar Saleem Swati for the chief minister’s role, while Murad Saeed is supporting Sohail Afridi. The growing factional divide suggests that a new face may soon occupy the KP chief ministership, marking a significant shift in the province’s leadership.
