Rawalpindi, February 7, 2025: Faisal Chaudhry, lawyer for PTI founder Imran Khan, was arrested outside Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail on Friday, a day after he allegedly used abusive language against a jail officer over being denied permission to meet the imprisoned former premier.

A heavy police contingent arrived at the jail’s check post when Chaudhry attempted to meet Khan. Authorities later confirmed that he was formally arrested for hurling insults at Jail Assistant Superintendent Imran Riaz and was subsequently shifted to Adiala Jail’s check post.

Speaking to journalists outside the jail, Chaudhry criticized the authorities, questioning why a notice was issued today for an incident that occurred yesterday at the internal gate. He claimed to have already sent a court order via WhatsApp to the jail superintendent.

On Thursday, Chaudhry was involved in a heated exchange with the Adiala Jail administration after being denied entry. A video of the altercation shows him hurling expletives at Assistant Superintendent Imran Riaz, demanding an explanation for the restrictions.

“Why was I stopped… who dares to block my entry?” he is heard asking, while the jail officer attempts to explain the situation.

Following the incident, Chaudhry lodged a formal complaint at Adiala Jail Chowki, arguing that as Imran Khan’s legal representative, he should have unrestricted access to his client.
