Mumbai, February 21, 2025: Fans of the legendary crime thriller CID have reason to celebrate, as the iconic series is making a grand comeback, stepping into the digital era with CID RETURNS, now streaming on Netflix.

The much-anticipated Season 2 launches with the first 18 episodes available from February 21, followed by new episodes premiering every Saturday and Sunday at 10 PM, starting February 22. For those who prefer traditional television, CID RETURNS will also continue airing on Sony Entertainment Television and streaming on Sony LIV.

Veteran actor Shivaji Satam, who famously portrays ACP Pradyuman, expressed his excitement about reprising his role. He teased a major shake-up in the storyline, saying, “In this edition, the unbreakable bond between Daya and Abhijeet is fractured. They find themselves on opposing sides, shaking the very foundation of CID. ACP Pradyuman’s world is about to turn upside down. Stepping into this role again after six years feels surreal. We promise a thrilling ride packed with suspense and heart-stopping drama!”

Originally premiering on January 21, 1998, CID became one of India’s longest-running and most beloved television series. Created by B.P. Singh, the show followed the investigative team led by ACP Pradyuman (Shivaji Satam), alongside Sr. Inspector Abhijeet (Aditya Srivastava), Sr. Inspector Daya (Dayanand Shetty), Inspector Fredricks (Dinesh Phadnis), and forensic expert Dr. Salunkhe (Narendra Gupta).

With its gripping storytelling and unforgettable characters, CID built a massive fanbase over the years. The series achieved several milestones, including its 500th episode in 2008, its 1000th in 2013, and its 1500th in 2018, before concluding its remarkable two-decade run on October 27, 2018.
