Social media campaign against Judge- FIA Registers Case Against Imran Riaz, others.

Islamabad, September 11, 2024-The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has registered a case against eight individuals, including journalist Imran Riaz Khan, for allegedly running a social media campaign against a judge. The case was filed under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) by the Cyber Crime Wing based on a complaint from the judge’s nephew, Ahmed Siddiq.

The case also names KP Anti-Corruption Advisor Musaddiq Abbasi as one of the accused. According to the complaint, the accused were involved in creating and spreading a negative narrative against the complainant’s uncle, who is a member of the judiciary and has been accused of corruption.

Following an inquiry, the individuals were found to be involved, leading to the registration of the case. Other individuals named in the case include Mujahid Ali Shah, Allah Nawaz Khan, Sohail Ahmed, Umar Siddiq, Siddiq Anjum, and Tariq Saleem.
