London, April 27, 2025: The Pakistani High Commission in London was attacked late Saturday, just a day after a heated protest staged by hundreds of Indian demonstrators outside the diplomatic building, resulting in two arrests related to violent behavior.

The assault caused visible damage to the property, including smashed windows. Vandals also defaced the building by hurling saffron-colored paint onto its white exterior walls and across the High Commission’s official plaque.

The incident followed a tense standoff on Friday when a large crowd of Indian protesters converged on the High Commission, only to be met by a group of counter-protesters supporting Pakistan. Amid the demonstrations, placards were displayed condemning India’s human rights violations in Indian-Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Some protesters also carried posters featuring Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan Varthaman, who was famously captured by Pakistan during the 2019 Operation Swift Retort. The images, along with depictions of tea stalls and cups, alluded to the incident when the pilot was offered tea while in Pakistani custody — a symbolic gesture that later became a viral meme.

British authorities have launched an investigation into the attack on the diplomatic premises, with security around the High Commission reportedly being reviewed and reinforced in response.
