Quetta, May 30, 2025: In a brazen act of terrorism, a group of 20 to 30 militants affiliated with the Indian-sponsored outfit Fitna al-Hindustan launched a deadly assault on the bustling market area of Surab, Balochistan, on Friday, targeting civilians, commercial areas, and government property.

According to the provincial government spokesperson, the attackers deliberately struck soft targets, including banks and crowded market areas, with women and children from the local Baloch community among the victims. The attackers also looted a bank and set several government officials’ residences ablaze.

Assistant Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Hidayatullah Balidi, a resident of Balida and serving in Surab, heroically confronted the militants during the attack and was martyred while defending civilians. His residence was also targeted during the assault, despite the presence of women and children.

Frontier Corps (FC) forces responded swiftly to the incident, prompting the terrorists to flee in panic. A joint operation involving the FC, police, and Levies was launched immediately to secure the area and track down the assailants.

Local authorities strongly condemned the attack, describing it as a cowardly and calculated effort to destabilize the region and undermine the state’s authority. The spokesperson emphasized that the militants involved were acting under the direction of Indian handlers, pursuing an agenda that stands in stark contrast to the values and traditions of Balochistan and its people.

“This was a deliberate attempt to terrorize civilians and sow chaos,” said the spokesperson. “Such actions have no place in our society and will be met with unwavering resolve.”

The provincial government extended heartfelt condolences to the family of ADC Hidayatullah Balidi, hailing his sacrifice as a symbol of extraordinary bravery and patriotism.

Authorities have vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice and reaffirmed their commitment to eradicating all forms of terrorism from Balochistan.
