Jerusalem / Tel Aviv / Tehran, June 15, 2025: Iran has launched a fresh wave of missile attacks on Israel, triggering air raid sirens across multiple Israeli cities, with the northern coastal city of Haifa bearing the brunt of the assault. At least 14 Israelis were killed and over 200 injured, according to Iranian state media IRNA and corroborated by Israeli and international sources.

The attack, part of Iran’s “Wa’ad al-Sadiq III” (True Promise 3) military operation, involved over 100 missiles, including hypersonic and ballistic variants, targeting key Israeli cities. Loud explosions were heard in Haifa following direct hits, while sirens blared in several cities urging residents to take shelter. The Israeli military instructed civilians to remain indoors and avoid public areas.

Channel 13 News (Israel) reported that the missile barrage struck Haifa and the nearby town of Tamra. A ballistic missile reportedly hit a two-story building in Tamra, killing four people and injuring 13 others.

Reuters, citing security officials, stated that an additional 10 Israelis were killed in the city of Bat Yam. Israeli media also reported that three people remain missing, while Channel 12 confirmed that more than 200 people were injured during overnight attacks.

Al Jazeera, citing verified social media footage, confirmed sightings of Iranian cruise missiles over northern Israel. In its official statement, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said its Aerospace Force carried out the large-scale strike using missiles and drones, targeting fuel depots and energy supply centers used by the Israeli Air Force.

Press TV aired a live statement from IRGC spokesperson Brigadier General Ali Mohammad Naeeni, who said the attacks were a response to recent Israeli “aggression” and warned of even more intense and widespread retaliatory operations if hostilities continue.

Naeeni also claimed Iran’s aerospace defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed three Israeli cruise missiles, ten drones, and dozens of smaller UAVs.

The latest escalation comes after Iran initiated its “Wa’ad al-Sadiq 3” operation late last night, targeting Israeli infrastructure, including the nuclear research center in Tel Aviv and the IDF headquarters, in a retaliatory move following earlier Israeli strikes.

Several buildings were reported destroyed, and among the casualties were five Israeli civilians, including one woman, with over 170 injured as of early Sunday morning.

Tensions in the region remain dangerously high as both sides brace for potential further escalation.
