Dublin, August 3, 2025: The Pakistan women’s cricket team touched down in Dublin on Sunday ahead of their three-match T20 International series against Ireland, scheduled to begin on August 7.
Led by captain Fatima Sana, the team arrived in the Irish capital and will take a day’s rest before resuming training on Tuesday, as part of their preparations for the opening match. All three fixtures will be played at the Clontarf Cricket Club Ground in Dublin, on August 7, 10, and 11, respectively.
The short tour serves as crucial preparation for the upcoming ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, set to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka in October.
According to the tournament schedule, Pakistan will open their World Cup campaign against Bangladesh on October 2, followed by a high-voltage clash against India on October 5, both at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
In light of the “fusion formula” agreed ahead of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, which states that Pakistan and India will not tour each other for ICC events over the next three years, all of Pakistan’s World Cup fixtures will be held at a neutral venue—Colombo.
Should Pakistan reach the semi-finals, they will play in Colombo or Guwahati on October 29, depending on final standings. The final is scheduled for November 2 in Bengaluru; however, if Pakistan qualifies, the match will be relocated to Colombo under the same neutral-venue arrangement.
The upcoming series against Ireland will be an important test of form and cohesion for the national side as they aim to make a strong impact in the global tournament.
