Gaza, September 7, 2025: Palestinian health authorities on Sunday reported that the death toll from Israel’s ongoing assault on the Gaza Strip has risen to 64,368, with at least 162,776 others injured since the war began in October 2023. Women and children remain the overwhelming majority of the victims.
Medical officials confirmed five more deaths from starvation and severe malnutrition in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of such fatalities to 387, including 138 children. Aid groups warn that the humanitarian crisis is worsening as food, clean water, and medical supplies remain severely restricted.
Emergency responders say they are unable to reach many casualties still trapped under rubble or lying on roadsides, as Israeli forces continue to target ambulances and civil defense teams. “Rescue efforts are obstructed, leaving countless bodies unrecovered,” a local health official said.
The relentless bombardment persists despite repeated UN Security Council calls for an immediate ceasefire and legally binding directives from the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which has ordered Israel to take urgent steps to prevent genocide and ease humanitarian suffering in Gaza.
Rights groups and international observers have described the situation as a systematic campaign of destruction, warning of “irreversible damage” to Gaza’s population if hostilities continue.
