New York, October 10, 2025: The U.S. television industry was shaken this week after a court found an unlicensed beautician guilty in the death of popular actress Sindyana Santangelo, who died following a botched cosmetic injection.

According to international media reports, the 58-year-old actress received silicone injections on March 24 in an attempt to enhance her appearance and look younger. Her condition deteriorated soon after the procedure. Investigators said she suffered an embolism — a blockage in the bloodstream caused by a blood clot — which proved fatal.

The court declared Libby Edmay, 55, guilty of causing the actress’s death. Known in the industry as the “Butt Lady,” Edmay had no medical license to perform such procedures. Shockingly, she had previously been convicted in a similar case in 2019.

She now faces sentencing on November 5 for charges of manslaughter and illegal medical practice.

Sindyana Santangelo rose to fame through the hit sitcom “Married… with Children” and made her showbiz debut in 1989 with the music video “Bust a Move.”

A similar incident recently occurred in India, where actress Shefali died after receiving a beauty injection that caused her heart rate to spike uncontrollably. Despite being rushed to a hospital, doctors were unable to save her.
