Rawalpindi, December 7,2025: Security forces killed 12 terrorists in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Kalat district, the military’s media wing announced on Sunday.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was launched on Saturday following reports about the presence of militants “belonging to Indian proxy, Fitna-al-Hindustan.”

The state has recently designated Balochistan-based militant outfits as Fitna-al-Hindustan to underscore what Islamabad alleges is India’s role in sponsoring terrorism and destabilisation inside Pakistan.

The ISPR said security forces “effectively engaged the terrorists’ location,” adding that an intense exchange of fire ensued.

“As a result, 12 Indian-sponsored terrorists were sent to hell,” the statement said.

Weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the hideout. The militants, the ISPR added, had been involved in “numerous terrorist activities in the area.”

Security forces have launched a sanitisation operation to ensure no remaining militants are present. The statement emphasised that the ongoing counterterrorism campaign under the Azm-i-Istehkam initiative — approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan — would continue “at full pace to wipe out foreign-sponsored terrorism.”

Pakistan has seen a rise in militant attacks in recent years, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, following the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan’s (TTP) withdrawal from a ceasefire agreement in November 2022.

A day earlier, the ISPR said 14 militants were killed in three separate IBOs in KP’s Lakki Marwat and Balochistan’s Tank district. Earlier in the week, seven terrorists were killed in two separate operations in North Waziristan.
