Islamabad, December 22, 2025: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Monday chaired a high-level meeting to review the performance and delivery of Consular Services provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), with a particular focus on public facilitation, transparency, and efficiency.

During the meeting, the Consular Affairs team gave a comprehensive briefing to the DPM/FM on the scope, key features, and operational efficiency of Attestation and Apostille Services currently being offered to citizens. Officials highlighted improvements made to streamline processes, reduce delays, and ensure smoother service delivery for individuals seeking document authentication for education, employment, and legal purposes abroad.

Senator Ishaq Dar reviewed the measures taken by the Consular Services team and underscored that transparent, efficient, and reliable attestation services form the cornerstone of MOFA’s mission in serving Pakistani citizens at home and overseas. He emphasized that consular services are often the primary point of interaction between the public and the Foreign Office, making professionalism and accountability essential.

The Deputy Prime Minister further stressed the need to continuously enhance public facilitation by ensuring services are provided at minimum cost and within the shortest possible time, while maintaining high standards of integrity. He directed officials to explore additional reforms, including greater use of technology and process optimization, to further ease the burden on applicants.

The meeting was attended by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) Tariq Bajwa and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The review reflects the government’s broader commitment to improving governance, strengthening citizen-centric services, and enhancing trust in public institutions through efficient and transparent consular operations.
