Islamabad, January 11, 2026: Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Reza Amiri-Moghaddam has said that the overall situation in Iran remained calm and peaceful from Saturday night through Sunday afternoon, dismissing reports of widespread unrest.
According to the ambassador, Tehran and other major cities witnessed no significant disturbances during the period. He noted that internet connectivity was temporarily disrupted due to security considerations, including threats posed by terrorist elements and documented external interference.
The envoy emphasized that the Iranian people, fully aware of what he described as conspiracies aimed at destabilizing the country, have clearly distanced themselves from terrorists and rioters.
Expressing confidence in the nation’s resilience, the ambassador said that, as in the past, the Iranian people would overcome this challenging phase safely through unity, steadfastness, and perseverance.
