Islamabad, January 15,2026: Ambassador Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, on Thursday received a courtesy call from Dr. Irfan Neziroğlu, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye, at the High Commission of Malaysia in Islamabad.
During the meeting, the two ambassadors exchanged views on Malaysia–Türkiye bilateral relations, with a particular focus on expanding economic cooperation and identifying new avenues for closer engagement. Both sides underscored the importance of strengthening trade and investment linkages in view of evolving regional and global economic dynamics.
The discussions also covered prospects for trilateral cooperation among Malaysia, Türkiye, and Pakistan, especially in the fields of capacity building and development assistance. In this context, the ambassadors explored potential collaboration between the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), including the sharing of expertise and best practices for development programmes in Pakistan.
Media cooperation also featured prominently in the talks, with both sides discussing efforts to revive the trilateral television channel initiative involving Malaysia, Türkiye, and Pakistan. The initiative aims to promote balanced narratives, counter misinformation, and combat Islamophobia through strategic communication and collaborative media content.
In addition, the ambassadors exchanged perspectives on the regional security situation, emphasizing the importance of stability, dialogue, and cooperation in addressing shared regional challenges.
The courtesy call reflected the warm and friendly relations between Malaysia and Türkiye, as well as their shared commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties and exploring practical and mutually beneficial avenues of cooperation with Pakistan.
