Kern County, California, February 22,2026: Mohammad Arif on Sunday formally took the oath of office to become an official candidate for Governor of California, marking a key milestone in his bid for the state’s top executive position.

The oath was administered by the Registrar of Voters and election officials at Kern County, completing the final procedural requirement for Arif’s candidacy ahead of the June 2, 2026 gubernatorial election.

With the oath-taking, Arif is now fully recognized as an official contender in the statewide race, joining a field of candidates from across the political spectrum. Election officials confirmed that the process was carried out in accordance with California election laws and regulations.
