Islamabad, March 29, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a meeting in Islamabad with Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty, reaffirming the two countries’ commitment to strengthening bilateral relations across multiple sectors.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan, Dar warmly welcomed his Egyptian counterpart and underscored that Pakistan attaches great importance to its longstanding and brotherly ties with Egypt, rooted in shared history, common faith, and aligned perspectives on regional and global issues.

Both sides reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral cooperation and expressed satisfaction over the positive momentum generated through recent high-level exchanges, including Abdelatty’s visit to Pakistan in November 2025. They reaffirmed their resolve to further expand collaboration in all areas of mutual interest.

The two ministers emphasized the need to enhance bilateral trade and investment, agreeing to activate institutional mechanisms such as the Joint Ministerial Commission and promote stronger business-to-business linkages.

Dar also appreciated Egypt’s continued support in Pakistan’s health sector, particularly its assistance in combating hepatitis C, and welcomed ongoing cooperation in this field.

On defence and security, both sides expressed satisfaction with the current trajectory of cooperation and agreed to further strengthen collaboration through training exchanges and other institutional frameworks.

The leaders also exchanged views on key regional and international developments, with a particular focus on the Middle East. They stressed the importance of restraint, de-escalation, and resolving disputes through dialogue and diplomacy.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people, Dar strongly condemned the continued aggression by Israeli occupying forces in Gaza and the West Bank. He also appreciated Egypt’s role in facilitating humanitarian assistance to Gaza, including support extended to Pakistan’s relief efforts.

Both countries agreed to maintain close coordination at multilateral platforms, including the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment by both sides to further deepen their close and brotherly relations and enhance cooperation across all areas.

The visit of the Egyptian foreign minister comes as a follow-up to recent high-level engagements, including discussions held in Riyadh on March 19, 2026, reflecting close coordination between Pakistan and Egypt on evolving regional developments.
