Islamabad, April 5, 2026: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has extended heartfelt Easter greetings to the Christian community in Pakistan and across the world, highlighting the importance of unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.

In his message, the Chairman Senate described Easter as a powerful symbol of hope, renewal, and spiritual reflection. He noted that the occasion is marked by special prayers and religious gatherings that not only strengthen faith but also promote universal values of love, brotherhood, and harmony.

Gilani urged members of the Christian community to offer special prayers for Pakistan’s peace, stability, and prosperity. He said such occasions provide an opportunity to further strengthen interfaith harmony and reinforce the message of compassion and unity within society.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to minority rights, he stated that religious minorities in Pakistan enjoy full freedom to practice their faith and perform religious rituals without hindrance. He underscored that the Constitution guarantees equal rights to all citizens and noted that legislative measures have been taken to safeguard minority rights.

The Chairman Senate also highlighted the role of the Pakistan Peoples Party in advocating for minority rights, adding that parliamentary committees are actively working to address the concerns of minority communities in a constructive manner.

Concluding his message, Gilani once again conveyed his warm wishes to the Christian community worldwide, expressing hope for their continued peace, happiness, and well-being.
