Pretoria, April 11,2026: Pakistan’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Malik Muhammad Farooq, participated in the Economic Diplomacy and AfCFTA Colloquium organized by the Progressive Business Forum, highlighting Pakistan’s economic potential and investment opportunities.

Addressing the gathering, the High Commissioner underscored Pakistan’s strategic location, growing economic prospects, and investor-friendly policies. He emphasized that the country offers immense opportunities for international investors and serves as a gateway to regional markets.

He also outlined avenues for enhanced cooperation between Pakistan and South Africa in key sectors, including agriculture, mining, energy, and information technology, noting that stronger economic collaboration could yield mutual benefits for both nations.

On the sidelines of the event, the High Commissioner held interactions with Parks Tau, Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, and Thandi Moraka, Deputy Minister of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation.

During the meetings, the dignitaries exchanged views on strengthening Pakistan–South Africa trade and investment ties and explored new avenues for bilateral collaboration. The discussions also focused on leveraging opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to promote regional connectivity and economic growth.

The engagement reflects Pakistan’s continued commitment to advancing economic diplomacy and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships across Africa.
