Islamabad, May 20, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar on Wednesday welcomed a delegation of senior Bangladeshi civil servants at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor initiative.

According to the Foreign Office, the delegation is visiting Pakistan for a three-week executive development programme at the Civil Services Academy.

The ministry described the visit as a significant milestone in bilateral institutional exchanges between Pakistan and Bangladesh, noting that it is taking place after 53 years.

The Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor initiative was launched during Ishaq Dar’s visit to Dhaka in August 2025, where he announced 500 scholarships for Bangladeshi students over a five-year period.

According to the Foreign Office, 74 Bangladeshi students are currently pursuing higher education in Pakistan under the initiative.

During the meeting, Ishaq Dar said the exchange programme reflected the growing positive momentum in Pakistan-Bangladesh relations and highlighted the importance of sustained leadership-level engagement, institutional cooperation, and stronger people-to-people contacts between the two countries.
