Islamabad, June 2,2026: Portugal Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Paulo Guedes Domingues participated in the United Nations Quarterly Briefing for Member States in Pakistan.
The briefing which brought together Heads of Mission accredited in Islamabad for an update on the activities and priorities of the United Nations system in the country.
The briefing featured remarks by United Nations Resident Coordinator Mohamed Yahya on the UN’s support to Pakistan’s development priorities and on the progress of the UN80 reform initiative.
Presentations were also delivered by the International Monetary Fund on Pakistan’s economic outlook in the current regional context and by UNODC on the challenges posed by drug trafficking and organised crime.
Portugal remains firmly committed to multilateralism and to the central role of the United Nations in advancing sustainable development, peace and international security.
