Cairo, June 21,2026: Foreign ministers of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Egypt held a restricted-format meeting in Cairo on Saturday under the R-4 framework, where they reviewed regional developments, discussed the implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), and explored key areas of future cooperation.

According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting brought together Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

The ministers exchanged views on evolving regional dynamics and reaffirmed their commitment to dialogue, diplomacy, and regional ownership in addressing shared challenges facing the broader Middle East and surrounding regions.

Participants also reviewed progress on the implementation of the Islamabad MoU and discussed mechanisms to strengthen political, economic, and strategic cooperation among the four countries.

The meeting underscored the growing importance of the R-4 platform as a forum for consultation and coordination on regional issues, with the participating countries emphasizing the need for collective efforts to promote peace, stability, connectivity, and sustainable development.

The four foreign ministers reiterated their commitment to deepening cooperation and strengthening partnerships aimed at fostering a more peaceful, stable, and interconnected region.

The R-4 Ministerial Meeting is being hosted in Cairo as part of ongoing diplomatic engagements among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Egypt to enhance regional collaboration and address common challenges through dialogue and cooperation.
