Dubai, September 11, 2026: Captain Fatima Sana’s blistering late cameo helped Pakistan post a competitive 130/5 against defending champions Sri Lanka in the second semi-final of the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday.
After being put into bat, Pakistan struggled early and lost experienced opener Muneeba Ali for two in the second over with only five runs on the board.
Shawaal Zulfiqar attempted to counterattack with a quickfire 24 off 16 deliveries, including four boundaries and two sixes, before Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu dismissed her.
At 29/2 in 4.4 overs, Gull Feroza took charge and shared partnerships with Ayesha Zafar and Sadaf Shamas, who contributed seven and eight runs respectively.
Feroza later combined with Fatima for a crucial 40-run fifth-wicket stand. The partnership ended on the final delivery of the 16th over when Feroza was dismissed after scoring a patient 21 off 32 balls.
Fatima remained unbeaten until the end, smashing 47 off 36 deliveries with four fours and two sixes to lift Pakistan to a defendable total.
She received useful support from No. 7 batter Tuba Hassan, who finished unbeaten on 12 off 10 balls.
For Sri Lanka, Chamudi Praboda and Athapaththu claimed two wickets each, while Sugandika Kumari took one.
