Hulunbuir, September 11, 2026: Choi Dohyeon scored twice as South Korea thrashed Pakistan 4-1 in the second semi-final of the 2026 Men’s Junior Asia Cup at the Moqi Training Base on Friday.
The victory sent South Korea into the final, where they will face India, who defeated Malaysia 3-1 in the first semi-final.
Pakistan, meanwhile, were knocked out of the title race and will meet Malaysia in the bronze medal match at the same venue on Sunday.
The second semi-final began cautiously, with neither side able to break the deadlock in the opening quarter.
South Korea eventually took the lead six minutes into the second quarter when Seowon Park scored from a field goal.
Minhyeok Lee doubled the advantage five minutes later by converting a penalty corner. Pakistan responded in the dying seconds of the quarter when Nadeem Khan pulled one back with a successful penalty-corner conversion.
Dohyeon restored South Korea’s two-goal cushion in the 41st minute with another penalty-corner strike, leaving Pakistan trailing 3-1 heading into the final quarter.
He struck again seven minutes into the fourth quarter, converting yet another penalty corner to put South Korea firmly in control.
Pakistan made several attempts to reduce the deficit during the remaining eight minutes but failed to find the net, suffering their first defeat of the tournament and ending their hopes of winning the coveted title.
