Islamabad, March 30, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties during a telephone conversation on Sunday, with a $2 billion investment deal set to be finalized next month.

PM Shehbaz extended his warm congratulations to President Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan, expressing his best wishes for their continued peace and prosperity.

The two leaders discussed expanding economic cooperation, building on the PM’s recent visit to Baku. As a key step, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy will travel to Islamabad in early April to hold discussions with PM Shehbaz and Deputy PM/Foreign Minister, paving the way for the anticipated $2 billion investment agreements.

These agreements will set the stage for President Aliyev’s official visit to Pakistan later in April, where both nations are expected to sign major investment deals aimed at boosting trade and economic collaboration.

PM Shehbaz hailed the upcoming engagements as a milestone in Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations, emphasizing their shared strategic vision and commitment to fostering mutual prosperity.
