Kharian, April 19, 2025: The Pakistan Army successfully hosted the 8th edition of the International Pakistan Army Team Spirit (PATS) Competition at Kharian Garrison, drawing participation from both domestic and international military teams.

The 60-hour-long, high-intensity military exercise focused on patrolling in semi-mountainous terrain, aiming to strengthen combat readiness, adaptability, and team cohesion. Participants engaged in a rigorous exchange of tactics, techniques, and operational experiences, fostering deeper military-to-military collaboration.

A total of 23 teams took part in the event, including seven from the Pakistan Army, one from the Pakistan Navy, and 15 teams representing friendly countries.

Over the years, the PATS Competition has grown into a prestigious platform for international defence cooperation and professional military development.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest. In his address, he lauded the professionalism, resilience, and dedication demonstrated by all participants.

“The Pakistan Army takes pride in its core values of character, courage, and competence — qualities that have been repeatedly proven in our fight against terrorism,” said General Munir.

Held amid the rugged hills of Punjab, the competition highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to fostering regional military cooperation and enhancing operational preparedness under realistic conditions.

Earlier this week, on Thursday, General Munir also presided over an investiture ceremony at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. Speaking at the event, he stated that the peace and liberty enjoyed in Pakistan today are the result of the immense sacrifices made by the armed forces.

During the ceremony, the COAS awarded military honors, including the Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i-Basalat, to deserving officers and soldiers in recognition of their service and bravery.
