Islamabad, April 22, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire to deepen its partnership with Rwanda, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, and people-to-people exchanges.
During a meeting with Rwandan Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Olivier J.P. Nduhungirehe — currently on an official visit to Pakistan — Prime Minister Sharif expressed satisfaction with the growing trajectory of bilateral relations. He welcomed the visiting dignitary and extended warm wishes to Rwandan President Paul Kagame and Prime Minister Edouard Ngirente.
The prime minister also invited President Kagame to undertake an official visit to Pakistan, underscoring Islamabad’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Kigali across multiple sectors.
Congratulating Rwanda on the opening of its resident mission in Islamabad, Prime Minister Sharif noted that the diplomatic presence would significantly enhance bilateral engagement, especially through increased business-to-business (B2B) interactions.
Ambassador Nduhungirehe thanked the prime minister for his hospitality and conveyed Rwanda’s eagerness to build stronger trade and economic ties with Pakistan. He noted that a Rwandan business delegation accompanying him had already participated in a trade event in Lahore aimed at fostering commercial linkages.
The two sides also exchanged views on multilateral cooperation, particularly at the United Nations, reaffirming their shared values and mutual trust in advancing global peace and development.
Pakistan and Rwanda enjoy cordial and friendly relations, underpinned by a growing spirit of collaboration and cooperation on regional and international platforms.
