New Delhi, May 10, 2025: In a significant development, Colonel Sophia Qureshi of the Indian Army’s Signal Corps has confirmed that at least five Indian airbases sustained damage in Pakistan’s retaliatory strikes following India’s late-night attacks on Pakistani military installations.

Speaking at a press conference in New Delhi alongside Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Col Qureshi acknowledged that Pakistan targeted more than 26 locations, successfully damaging “equipment and personnel” at several critical air force facilities.

“Pakistan tried to infiltrate via air at more than 26 places, and they damaged our equipment and personnel at air force bases in Udhampur, Pathankot, Adampur, Bhuj, and Bathinda,” Col Qureshi stated, according to The Times of India.

Despite the acknowledgment of losses, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh emphasized that Indian forces had “neutralised” the incoming threats, asserting that air defence systems responded effectively under high-pressure conditions.

The admission marks the first official acknowledgment from the Indian side of the scale of damage inflicted by Pakistan under Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, a military response to what Islamabad described as “unprovoked Indian aggression.”
