Jeddah, June 5, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Jeddah on Wednesday for a two-day official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at the invitation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MbS).

The prime minister was warmly received by Jeddah Governor Prince Saud bin Abdullah and senior Saudi officials. Upon arrival, the prime minister and his delegation proceeded to Makkah to perform Umrah.

The visit, scheduled for June 5 and 6, coincides with the celebration of Eid-ul-Adha, which PM Shehbaz will observe in the Kingdom.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the premier is accompanied by a high-level delegation, and the trip aims to further strengthen the historic and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

A key highlight of the visit will be Shehbaz Sharif’s meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Eid day. The two leaders will exchange Eid greetings and hold discussions on a wide range of bilateral and regional issues.

The meeting is expected to focus on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, and strategic partnerships, enhancing collaboration on issues concerning the Muslim Ummah and promoting regional peace and security, especially in light of recent Pakistan-India tensions

Sources also indicated that Prime Minister Shehbaz will formally express Pakistan’s gratitude for the Saudi leadership’s diplomatic efforts in helping de-escalate the recent military standoff between Islamabad and New Delhi.

This visit follows a series of high-level engagements between the two nations aimed at reinforcing economic and security ties amid shifting dynamics in the broader Middle East and South Asia.
