Rawalpindi, July 4, 2025: Pakistani security forces successfully thwarted two consecutive infiltration attempts by India-backed militants from across the Afghan border, killing 30 insurgents in intense operations conducted in the Hasan Khel area of North Waziristan, the military’s media wing reported on Friday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the infiltration attempts occurred during the nights of July 1–2 and July 2–3, 2025, when surveillance systems detected the movement of a large group of armed militants attempting to illegally cross into Pakistan from Afghan territory.
The militants were identified as operatives of the proscribed terrorist outfit “Fitna-tul-Khawarij”, allegedly supported by Indian intelligence services. The ISPR said the infiltrators were neutralized with “remarkable professional skill and tactical precision,” preventing a potentially large-scale terror attack inside Pakistan.
“Troops exhibited exceptional vigilance and combat readiness in detecting and engaging the hostile elements, successfully eliminating all 30 infiltrators,” the ISPR stated.
A significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered during the operation. Officials believe the infiltrators were preparing for a mass-casualty assault within Pakistani territory.
In a strongly worded statement, the ISPR reiterated that these militants were part of an India-backed network using Afghan soil to destabilize Pakistan. The military called upon the Taliban-led government in Kabul to fulfill its responsibilities under international commitments and prevent its territory from being used for cross-border terrorism.
“Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully determined to defend every inch of the homeland and dismantle all terrorist networks, especially those supported and financed by India,” the ISPR said.
Security analysts have observed a rising trend in coordinated cross-border infiltrations, attributing it to India’s alleged hybrid warfare strategy aimed at opening a western front against Pakistan while avoiding direct military confrontation.
The recent operations underscore the mounting security challenges along Pakistan’s western frontier, where the porous border with Afghanistan has long been exploited by hostile elements. Defense officials credited the success of the operations to enhanced surveillance systems and improved tactical coordination on the ground.
As tensions remain high amid geopolitical volatility in the region, the ISPR reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces are “resolute in their mission to safeguard national security and ensure peace and stability across all borders.”
