Islamabad, October 07,2024-The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sealed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad due to illegal constructions and failure to renew its lease. The operation, led by Special Magistrate Sardar Muhammad Asif and Assistant Commissioner Abdullah, resulted in the closure of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House and the Chief Minister’s House. Security personnel have been deployed at the premises following the action.

According to documents obtained by Sub News, the lease for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House was not extended, and unauthorized constructions were carried out without obtaining the necessary permissions or certification after completion. As a result, CDA sealed Blocks A and B of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House, while Block C, which houses families, remains occupied for now.

The rooms built for guests in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House were also sealed. Furthermore, the main gate of the Chief Minister’s House was sealed due to illegal constructions on the property. Families residing in the government quarters at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House, around 40 in total, have been ordered to vacate the premises. These families include the staff working for the Chief Minister, such as the chef and clerks, whose children are studying in various schools across Islamabad.

The CDA’s action follows protests and is seen as part of a broader crackdown on non-compliance with building regulations and unauthorized developments in the capital.
