Dubai, August 11, 2025: Pakistan have dropped one spot to fifth place in the latest ICC Men’s ODI rankings released on Monday, following a defeat to the West Indies in the second ODI at Tarouba.

Pakistan now hold 3,465 points, down from fourth place, as Sri Lanka leapfrogged them into fourth with 4,009 points. The West Indies also climbed to ninth, pushing Bangladesh down to tenth. India remain at the top with 4,471 points, followed by New Zealand (4,160) and Australia (3,473). South Africa sit sixth (2,775), and Afghanistan seventh (2,279).

The ranking shift comes after the West Indies secured a five-wicket win in a rain-affected match on Sunday, levelling the three-match series 1-1. Chasing a target of 181 in 35 overs, the hosts recovered from an early collapse to 12-2, with Sherfane Rutherford (45 off 33), Roston Chase (49* off 47) and Justin Greaves (26 off 31) steering them home in 33.2 overs.

For Pakistan, Hasan Ali took two early wickets, while Mohammad Nawaz also claimed two scalps. Jayden Seales starred with the ball for the hosts, taking 3/23, including the key wicket of Babar Azam for a duck. Hasan Nawaz top-scored for Pakistan with an unbeaten 36 off 30 balls.

The series decider will be played later this week.
