Chengdu, September 13, 2025: President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday reiterated Pakistan’s full support for China’s vision of “civilisation exchange and mutual learning” while addressing the Second Golden Panda Awards International Culture Forum in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.

The event was attended by senior Chinese leaders, cultural figures, artists, and international delegates. In his remarks, President Zardari underlined the power of art and culture to unite people and strengthen bonds among civilisations.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to work with China and other nations to expand cultural exchanges, strengthen creative industries, and promote understanding and tolerance. “Culture remains a vital bridge to peace, prosperity, and a shared future for humanity,” he said.

Highlighting China’s Global Development Initiative (GDI), Global Security Initiative (GSI), and Global Governance Initiative (GGI), the president stressed their importance for sustainable development, regional stability, and inclusive international cooperation. He noted that the GGI in particular champions respect for diversity, equality among cultures, and dialogue as a counter to narratives of a “clash of civilisations.”

As Pakistan and China prepare to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations next year, President Zardari said the partnership stood as a model of mutual respect and enduring friendship. He praised President Xi Jinping’s leadership for offering a vision of “win-win cooperation” instead of confrontation at a time of global transformation.

Congratulating the award winners, President Zardari lauded their creativity and said such artistic contributions transcend borders by reflecting shared human values. He also expressed gratitude to the Sichuan provincial government, the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the forum’s organisers for their hospitality, particularly thanking Li Shulei, Member of the Political Bureau and Minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee.
