Colombo, October 4, 2025: Pakistan women’s cricket team captain Fatima Sana said on Saturday that her side is ready to embrace the pressure of their upcoming World Cup clash against arch-rivals India, stressing that the team is focused on performance rather than outside noise.
Speaking to reporters, Fatima acknowledged the magnitude of the contest but expressed confidence in her players. “Every match comes with its own pressure, especially when it’s against India,” she said. “But our goal is to channel that pressure into performance.”
Rejecting the perception that Pakistan cannot beat India, the skipper said: “It’s simply not true that we can never beat them. Any team is beatable if we play solid, smart cricket.”
Fatima also underlined her squad’s unity and mental focus, saying external distractions would not affect their campaign. “We don’t let outside noise influence us. We’re committed to playing with integrity and upholding the spirit of the game,” she remarked.
“Records are meant to be broken,” the captain added, signaling Pakistan’s determination to challenge history in what is expected to be one of the most anticipated fixtures of the Women’s World Cup.
