Rawalpindi, October 15, 2025: Pakistan’s military has strongly criticized senior Indian army officials for what it described as “delusional, fabricated and provocative propaganda,” saying that such remarks have turned the Indian military establishment into “a laughing stock.”
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said it was “deeply concerned” over Indian military leaders’ recent comments, which it claimed were politically motivated and aimed at influencing upcoming state elections in Bihar and West Bengal.
“Five months after Marka-e-Haq, in the run-up to Indian state elections, the Indian military leadership has begun parroting the same delusional and fabricated propaganda it resorts to before every election cycle,” the statement read.
The ISPR’s remarks came in response to comments reportedly made by India’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO), Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, who claimed that Pakistan had suffered “over 100 military casualties” during the May border clashes, as reported by NDTV.
Rejecting the claim, Pakistan’s military said 53 individuals — including 13 armed forces personnel and 40 civilians — were martyred in the Indian strikes during the May confrontation.
The ISPR also condemned remarks by Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, India’s Western Army Commander, who asserted that “Pakistan had no capacity to fight India” and threatened a new campaign, dubbed Operation Sindoor 2.0, in response to another “Pahalgam-type incident.”
Calling such statements “irresponsible and dangerous,” the ISPR said they demonstrated “how political pressure can compromise professional military judgment.”
“Any professional soldier knows that unnecessary chest-thumping and unwarranted statements can trigger jingoism and have serious consequences for peace and stability in South Asia,” the military’s media wing warned.
The ISPR described the Indian army’s claims as contradictory and not worthy of a detailed response, adding that New Delhi’s leadership was trying to rewrite history through ‘Bollywood-style scripts’.
“Apparently, the Indian Army and political leadership have not reconciled with the fact that they were decisively beaten in Marka-e-Haq — the May conflict during which Pakistan shot down seven Indian Air Force jets in retaliation for cross-border attacks,” the statement said.
The ISPR further said the world now recognizes India as the “true face of cross-border terrorism” and “the epicentre of regional instability,” accusing New Delhi of pursuing adventurism to the detriment of its people and neighbours.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to national defence, the statement concluded:
“The people and armed forces of Pakistan are fully capable and committed to defend every inch of our territory. Every act of aggression will be met with a swift, resolute and intense response that will be remembered by posterity.”
