Islamabad, November 7, 2025: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has constituted dedicated working groups to fast-track development in Islamabad’s new sectors and oversee the upgradation of older residential areas, the authority said on Friday.
The decision was made during a review meeting chaired by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa at the authority’s headquarters.
Officials briefed the chairman on progress across multiple sectors, including C-14, C-15, E-12, and I-12.
Chairman Randhawa directed officers to accelerate work in Sector C-14, noting steady progress in road infrastructure, horticulture, and internal electrification.
He instructed the early completion of street lighting, drainage, sewerage, and water supply systems, stressing that electricity supply works should also be finalised “as soon as possible.”
In Sector C-15, officials reported that sub-base work on 17 roads had been completed, with the remaining development contracts awarded. All road infrastructure in the sector is expected to be completed by March 2026.
Briefings on Sectors E-12 and I-12 highlighted ongoing progress in sub-sectors 2 and 3 of E-12, with tendering for sub-sector 4 expected to conclude shortly.
Meanwhile, TST (road surfacing) work in Sector I-12 is scheduled for completion this month.
To ensure sustained progress, the CDA chief directed sector development officers to maintain a regular field presence and ensure installation of permanent street lighting, water, and sewerage systems across all active sites.
He also called for the early handover of possession to allottees in newly developed sectors, terming residential expansion a key component of Islamabad’s urban development strategy.
“Alongside major infrastructure projects, timely sector development to meet citizens’ housing needs remains one of our top priorities,” Randhawa said.
The newly formed working groups will also prepare detailed plans for infrastructure rehabilitation, landscaping, and modern amenities in older sectors, aiming to restore and enhance Islamabad’s urban environment.
