Islamabad, November 13, 2025: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Director General of the United Kingdom’s National Crime Agency (NCA) Graeme Biggar on Thursday to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in security, counterterrorism, and law enforcement.
The meeting, held in Islamabad, was also attended by British High Commissioner Jane Marriott, the National Coordinator of NACTA, DG NCCIA, DG National Forensic Agency, Additional Secretary Interior, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, and Inspector General Islamabad Police.
Both sides held detailed discussions on expanding collaboration in counter-terrorism, narcotics control, human trafficking prevention, forensic sciences, immigration, and police training. They agreed to enhance training programmes for Pakistan’s anti-narcotics and law enforcement officers and to strengthen operational coordination in these areas.
A joint decision was also made to improve cooperation in tackling online child exploitation, while both sides agreed to broaden collaboration on extradition matters. It was decided that five Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) covering extradition and other sectors of cooperation between Pakistan and the UK would be finalized soon.
During the meeting, DG Graeme Biggar condemned the recent suicide attack in Islamabad and expressed sorrow over the loss of lives.
“Terrorism’s roots are linked to our neighbouring country,” Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said, reaffirming Pakistan’s determination to eliminate terrorism. “The world cannot ignore Pakistan’s resilience and resolve in this fight,” he added.
Naqvi emphasized the importance of modern forensic support and advanced professional training to boost the capabilities of Pakistan’s law enforcement agencies. He also underlined ongoing joint efforts with the UK to curb illegal immigration and improve border management.
DG Biggar commended Pakistan’s role in combating narcotics trafficking and reaffirmed the NCA’s commitment to continued cooperation with the Government of Pakistan across multiple areas of mutual interest.
