Islamabad, November 21, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday directed relevant ministries and departments to fast-track the integration of private-sector recommendations into a unified national industrial policy, stressing that coordinated and timely decision-making was vital for sustainable economic growth.

Chairing a meeting of the private-sector committee on national industrial development, the prime minister said the government was committed to converting expert proposals into actionable reforms without delay. Economic growth, job creation and higher national income, he noted, could not be achieved without robust industrial development.

During the meeting, private-sector members presented detailed proposals aimed at boosting industrial capacity and investment. Welcoming their input, the prime minister said the business community’s recommendations were “of key importance” and would be carefully reviewed before being incorporated into an implementation plan.

He instructed that the proposals be merged with recommendations from other economic sectors to form a cohesive national industrial policy framework. Ensuring ease of doing business and promoting investment remained among the government’s highest priorities, he added.

PM Shehbaz praised the business community for supporting government policies during challenging economic periods, saying their cooperation had helped stabilise the national economy. “By the grace of Allah, the country’s economic direction has improved, and Pakistan is moving towards progress,” he said, while urging continued hard work to accelerate development.

The meeting also included a comparative analysis with regional economies to identify measures for enhancing Pakistan’s industrial competitiveness.

Federal Ministers Ahsan Iqbal, Jam Kamal Khan, Ahad Khan Cheema, Ali Pervaiz Malik, Adviser to the PM Muhammad Ali, Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kayani, Special Assistant Haroon Akhtar, and industrialists from the Industrial Working Group led by Saqib Shirazi attended the meeting.
