Islamabad, December 23, 2025: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting to review Pakistan’s strategy for the continuation of its GSP Plus status with the European Union (EU).

During the meeting, the Secretary Commerce delivered a detailed presentation, outlining the steps taken by the government to meet the EU-prescribed criteria for maintaining the trade facility. He also shared updates regarding the recent visit of the EU Review Mission to Pakistan.

Senator Ishaq Dar sought implementation updates from all federal and provincial departments on their assigned tasks to fulfil the requirements for GSP Plus status. He directed all concerned authorities to ensure strict adherence to government policies in both letter and spirit to secure the continuation of this preferential trade status.

The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Law and Commerce, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Federal Secretaries of Foreign Affairs, Commerce, Human Rights, Law, Climate Change, and Overseas Pakistanis, as well as other senior officials.
