Rahim Yar Khan, December 30,2025: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday met with President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, at the Sheikh Zayed Palace in Rahim Yar Khan, reaffirming the two countries’ commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding economic cooperation.

The prime minister was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Ata Tarar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi, and other senior officials.

During the warm and cordial meeting, the two leaders followed up on discussions held during Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s recent visit to Islamabad on December 26, 2025 — his first official visit to Pakistan as President of the UAE.

Prime Minister Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s firm resolve to elevate the longstanding brotherly ties with the UAE into a strategic and mutually beneficial economic partnership. He stressed the need for both sides to actively pursue a quantum jump in bilateral trade to bring it to the desired level.

The leaders discussed enhancing cooperation across a wide range of sectors, including information technology, energy, mining and minerals, as well as defence cooperation. The prime minister also expressed deep admiration for the UAE’s remarkable progress under Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s dynamic and visionary leadership.

He thanked the UAE president for his continued patronage and commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and appreciated the UAE for hosting around 2.1 million Pakistanis, noting that the Pakistani diaspora played an important role in further cementing relations between the two countries.

In addition to bilateral cooperation, the two leaders exchanged views on a variety of regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The meeting marked the culmination of a year of intensive leadership-level engagements between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, reflecting the growing depth and momentum of the bilateral relationship.
