Islamabad, January 2, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Friday chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee, during which the Ministry of Defence gave a detailed presentation on the proposed outsourcing of Islamabad International Airport.
During the meeting, the deputy prime minister emphasized the government’s policy of encouraging Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) as a key driver to promote economic and commercial activity in the country. He noted that initiatives such as outsourcing major infrastructure facilities are aimed at improving efficiency, service delivery and investment inflows.
The meeting was attended by the Minister for Petroleum, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Privatization, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Federal Secretaries of Cabinet, Defence and Privatization, as well as other senior officials from various ministries.
