Islamabad, January 2, 2026: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Friday held an important meeting to review ongoing measures against encroachments and illegal constructions in the federal capital. The meeting was chaired by Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa at the CDA Headquarters.
The session was attended by CDA Board Member Admin Talat Mahmood, Member Planning and Design Dr. Khalid Hafiz, Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch, Deputy Director General Enforcement Dr. Anam Fatima, DC CDA, and other senior officials.
Briefing the chairman on the progress of anti-encroachment operations, officers said that under the supervision of the Deputy Director General Enforcement, a recent operation was conducted against the land mafia in the Diplomatic Enclave and adjoining areas, including the former Muslim Colony. During the campaign, over 900 kanals of valuable state land were reclaimed from illegal occupants.
The briefing highlighted that, in compliance with Islamabad High Court orders, local residents were given an opportunity to present their claims according to the law. A site office was established on the instructions of Chairman CDA, staffed by personnel from the Revenue and Planning Wings, to hear and resolve legitimate claims of local individuals. Citizens possessing legal ownership documents were advised to contact the CDA for verification.
Officials also informed the meeting that the registration of FIRs against those responsible for illegal constructions is progressing rapidly. These actions are aimed at protecting valuable state land, preventing future encroachments, and ensuring transparency. FIRs have been filed against individuals involved in occupying state land and misleading citizens.
Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa emphasized that legitimate claims of citizens will be addressed in accordance with the law, and all possible facilities will be provided to them. He reaffirmed his commitment to organized urban planning, safeguarding state land, and making Islamabad free of encroachments.
The CDA administration called on citizens to cooperate fully in keeping the capital organized and urged them to report any illegal construction or encroachment immediately. Officials noted that state land worth billions of rupees has already been retrieved through these efforts.
