Rawalpindi, January 10, 2026: Security forces killed eleven militants in two separate intelligence-based operations conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on January 8, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.
According to a statement, an intelligence-based operation was carried out in North Waziristan district following reports of the presence of militants. During the operation, security forces effectively engaged the militants’ hideout, resulting in an intense exchange of fire in which six militants were killed.
In a separate operation, police and security forces jointly conducted an intelligence-based operation in Kurram district. As a result of the ensuing firefight, five more militants were neutralised.
The ISPR said weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed militants, who were allegedly involved in multiple terrorist activities against security forces and law enforcement agencies, as well as targeted killings of innocent civilians.
The statement added that sanitisation operations are ongoing in the affected areas to eliminate any remaining militants. It reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their counter-terrorism campaign at full pace under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” as approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
