Davos, January 20, 2026: The Paléo Festival in Nyon has been voted Best Major Festival, a top tier honor reserved for events welcoming more than 40,000 festivalgoers per day. The award was presented at the European Festival Awards ceremony held in the Netherlands.

According to information shared by the Embassy of Switzerland on social media, the recognition celebrates the festival’s outstanding audience experience, the diversity and quality of its musical lineup, and the strong values upheld by the entire Paléo organization. The award places Paléo among Europe’s most respected large scale cultural events.

Held annually in Nyon, Paléo is one of Europe’s largest open air music festivals, spanning six days and six nights of continuous music and performances. Each year, it attracts around 250,000 festivalgoers from Switzerland and abroad, offering a wide ranging program that brings together international stars, emerging artists, and performers across multiple genres.

Behind the scenes, the festival’s success is powered by more than 5,000 volunteers, whose commitment and coordination play a central role in delivering a smooth and welcoming experience for audiences.

With this latest recognition, the Paléo Festival further cements its reputation as a flagship cultural event, reflecting Switzerland’s vibrant live music scene and its ability to host world class festivals on a grand scale.
