Islamabad, February 3, 2026: Commander of the Azerbaijan Naval Forces (ANF), Rear Admiral Shahin Mammadov, called on Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf at Naval Headquarters in Islamabad.

Upon arrival, the visiting commander was received by the naval chief, while a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Navy presented a guard of honour. The dignitary later laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada’s Monument and was introduced to the Principal Staff Officers at Naval Headquarters.

During the meeting, both leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, the regional maritime security environment, and avenues for enhanced cooperation in training and defence. They pledged to further strengthen and diversify the scope of the existing bilateral defence relationship.

Rear Admiral Mammadov was also given a detailed briefing on the Pakistan Navy’s ongoing projects.

Pakistan and Azerbaijan share longstanding brotherly relations marked by close naval cooperation. The visit of the commander is expected to further enhance bilateral collaboration between the two countries, particularly between their navies.
