Islamabad, February 11, 2026: The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran issued a statement commemorating the 47th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, highlighting five decades of national resilience, sovereignty, and progress.
The statement described the 1979 revolution as the triumph of the Iranian people’s collective will, grounded in faith, historical identity, and the pursuit of independence, which overthrew a dictatorial regime reliant on foreign powers. It marked the restoration of national dignity, popular participation in governance, and the assertion of sovereignty.
Over the past fifty years, Iran has achieved notable advances in science, technology, and industrial production by leveraging domestic capacities and skilled human capital. Despite the impact of unjust sanctions and maximum pressure campaigns, the country has strengthened its fiscal foundations, expanded non-oil exports, and improved social services, including healthcare, education, and indigenous production, contributing to citizens’ quality of life.
In foreign policy, Iran has pursued a balanced and constructive approach, engaging diplomatically with neighbors, emerging economies, and key international organizations. The country emphasizes dialogue, multilateralism, and cooperation as tools for regional peace and sustainable development, while asserting itself as a responsible and independent actor on the global stage.
The statement also addressed recent domestic unrest. Peaceful protests beginning on 28 December 2025 were reportedly exploited by extremist elements, leading to armed unrest. Iran emphasized that it has exercised maximum restraint while maintaining public order and safeguarding national security, with the Iranian people playing a role in preventing destabilization.
Iran reiterated its commitment to sovereignty and national security, while remaining open to diplomacy that respects mutual interests. It stressed that negotiations under coercion or threats cannot produce constructive outcomes.
On this anniversary, the Embassy reaffirmed its dedication to the principles of the Islamic Revolution and honored the memory of the nation’s martyrs, celebrating the vision of the Founding Father and the resilience of the Iranian people.
