Islamabad, February 19, 2026: Advisor to the Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Misbah Khar, held a high-level meeting with Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Pakistan, Salem Mohammed Salem Al Bawab Al Zaabi, at the UAE Embassy to further strengthen the longstanding and fraternal relations between the two countries.

The meeting featured comprehensive discussions on enhancing bilateral cooperation in key areas, including investment promotion, parliamentary engagement, trade expansion, and people-to-people contacts. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to translating the historic friendship between Pakistan and the UAE into tangible economic and diplomatic outcomes.

Ms. Khar, who also serves as Secretary of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference (ISC), briefed the Ambassador on recent official visits undertaken by Chairman Senate Yousaf Raza Gillani to various countries, with particular focus on his engagements in the UAE. She highlighted the importance of these interactions in strengthening parliamentary diplomacy and expanding strategic cooperation between the two brotherly nations.

The UAE Ambassador congratulated Ms. Khar on the successful organization of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference recently hosted in Pakistan and conveyed best wishes to Chairman Senate Gillani. He appreciated Pakistan’s continued efforts to promote dialogue, collaboration, and institutional linkages among parliamentary leaders.

Ms. Khar also apprised the Ambassador of preparations for the upcoming Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference, underscoring its role as an important platform for fostering mutual understanding, legislative cooperation, and multilateral engagement.

The meeting concluded with both sides expressing confidence that enhanced parliamentary dialogue and deeper economic cooperation would further solidify Pakistan–UAE relations and open new avenues of partnership in the years ahead.
